Fire safety solutions for the Wine Vaults in Ruthin
Jackson Fire & Security has been instrumental in assisting a popular pub in Ruthin in its preparations for Christmas. The fire solutions company from Mold conducted a complete takeover of the fire alarm system, emergency lighting, and fire extinguishers.
An addition of a DualCom monitoring system was made to ensure 24/7 building protection, even when unoccupied.
During a survey of existing fire extinguishers, it was discovered that four foam fire extinguishers were due for replacement. The survey also prompted the recommendation of an extra CO2 fire extinguisher.
A comprehensive service of the fire alarm was undertaken, encompassing all devices, batteries, and sounders. A follow-up visit in 6 months has been scheduled for the next service. Moreover, a complete three-hour duration test of the emergency lighting was conducted during the visit, meeting the annual requirements.
Situated at the corner of Castle Street and Upper Clwyd Street, the popular pub is housed in a Grade 2 listed building that once served as a wine retailer dating back to the 1820s, known then as the Black Horse.
Business Development Manager, Shaun Roberts, said: “The Wine Vaults were a pleasure to work with from day one. Their commitment to compliance and ensuring everything was in good working order, especially ahead of the busy Christmas period, was evident.”
“We enjoyed collaborating with them and anticipate our next visit in May 2024 to conduct the 6-monthly fire alarm maintenance,” Shaun added.
Jess Geddes, Owner of The Wine Vaults, said: “Shaun explained the compliance requirements and how Jackson Fire & Security operates. I’m pleased that my pub is now fully compliant, providing peace of mind for my customer.”
Jess further praised the engineer Ian for promptly addressing the necessary works. She looks forward to continued cooperation with Jackson Fire & Security.
